Introduction
In today’s collaborative supply chain environments, empowering suppliers with data access is essential to enable them to share responsibility for meeting EUDR requirements. This feature allows suppliers to:
Manage their own data: Suppliers can take control of the information relevant to their activities.
Gain insights firsthand: With direct access to the Verify portal, they can view data and analytics related to their operations.
Increase accountability and engagement: When suppliers are involved in the data process, it fosters a sense of ownership.
Enhance collaboration: This access facilitates smoother interactions and more meaningful contributions from suppliers.
Add value to the partnership: Giving suppliers visibility into their performance.
This guide explains the importance of granting access to your suppliers through the Verify portal and walks you through the steps to do it effectively.
How to Add a Supplier
Step 01: Navigate to 'Suppliers'
Only a user with an admin role has access rights to create a supplier account. To do this, navigate to the 'User Management' section in the left sidebar, then click on the 'Suppliers' tab.
Step 02: Navigate to 'Add New'
To create a new supplier account for data uploads, click on 'Add New'. This will open the Supplier Creation page, where you can enter the supplier's information.
Step 03: Enter the supplier information
The Supplier Creation page allows you to define the supplier's name, access rights, and their contacts. The fields to be filled out are as follows:
Supplier name: This refers to the entity this particular supplier belongs to.
Supplier Creator First & Last Name: This refers to the contact information of the supplier creator who will be uploading the datasets on behalf of the entity.
Supplier Creator: A valid email address. Each user must have a unique name and email. You can also Add Multiple Users if needed. You can add 1-10 users as necessary for the supplier.
On the Supplier Creation page, you can enable File Upload and Reclassification. By ticking the relevant box, suppliers will be granted access to submit evidence or documents related to farm plot challenges and reclassification.
Step 04: Select Relevant Countries and Commodities
Choose which origin countries the supplier can upload data from. You can either:
Select one or more commodities to enable them for all countries supported by the Verify portal. This can be done by checking the corresponding box per commodity.
Enable all commodities for one or more countries supported by the Verify portal by checking the corresponding box for each country.
Deselect specific commodities that do not apply to an origin (e.g., select only palm for DR Congo or deselect soy for Cameroon).
Step 05: Finalise and Save
Once all the information is entered, click Add Supplier.
The supplier created will appear on the list with details such as:
Managing Suppliers
View and Manage Users
In the Users tab, you can view the list of supplier users, their roles, and the entities they belong to — all in one place.
Edit Supplier Information
Use the three-dot menu beside each supplier entry to make changes, such as adding or removing countries or modifying commodities.
Add More Users & Entity Categorisation
When adding additional users, you have the ability to assign them to existing or new entities directly from the Users tab. Each user can be associated with an entity type. This helps organise access according to business structures or regional operations.
Checking Supplier Farm plot verification from the 'Usage Analytics'
The Usage Analytics tab in your dashboard offers a powerful way to track the verification activity of farm plots across various suppliers. It provides transparency and detailed insights into how data is being verified within the platform.
Summary
Granting supplier access in the Verify portal is a strategic move that streamlines collaboration and enhances transparency. By following these steps, you empower your suppliers to take ownership, contribute more effectively, and become proactive partners in sustainability and compliance.
