Why is this important?

Meeting EU traceability requirements is a cumbersome process for traders and operators. Current export options force users to navigate complex spreadsheets filled with irrelevant data, slowing down workflows and increasing the risk of errors.

For example, traders sourcing coffee from various suppliers need an effortless way to export a final, EU-IS-ready dataset. Without a streamlined export, they’re left manually sifting through data to ensure compliance, wasting time and resources.

A dedicated geoJSON export, formatted to match EU IS requirements, eliminates this hassle. It allows teams to quickly generate and submit compliant datasets, improving accuracy, reducing delays, and ensuring a smoother experience for all.

You can check the video below or follow the instructions.

What’s New?

When creating a dataset, you’ll notice a new optional field called Producer Name in the Mapping Attributes section during dataset preparation.

The purpose of adding this field is as follows:

  • Some customers consider "Producer Name" and "Farmer Name" to be separate attributes. The Producer Name field can be used to enter the supplier ID for customers who require this distinction.

  • The Producer Name field is used in the EU IS export, as it's explicitly required by the EU IS upload specifications. The intention is to clearly indicate to users that this value will be included in the export, while still giving them the flexibility to map it according to their needs.

  • Please note that the information inputted for the Producer name field is optional, but it is accepted by the EU IS. It can now be included alongside all existing attributes.

How to Export Farm Plots

You now have two options for exporting the data requirements for the EU-IS:

  • The Results page

  • The Farm Plots page

GeoJSON Export
This is the standard export of your farm plots and all the attributes as originally uploaded.

EU IS Export
This is a dedicated GeoJSON export formatted to match EU IS requirements.
Below is a summary of the fields included in the EU IS export download:

  • ID: Extracted from the farm_plot_ID when mapping attribute information.

  • ProducerName (optional): Extracted from Producer Name when mapping attribute information.

  • ProducerCountry: Extracted from the origin selected when defining the dataset.

  • ProductionPlace (optional): Used to describe the name of the location. We have chosen to use 'Plot_ID' as the value for 'ProductionPlace', as it is the most reliable identifier available in most cases.

  • Area: Extracted from Area when mapping attribute information for geopoints. For polygons, this is automatically calculated based on the surface area.

Where else can you export the EU IS download?

You can export your farm plots in the correct format from:

  • The Parcel page

  • The DDS Repository page

By clicking the Export button, the EU IS GeoJSON will be downloaded along with additional files, including the DDS and an Excel file.

Both options ensure that your farm plots are exported in full compliance with EU IS standards.

How It Works in the EU IS System

Here’s an example of how this fits into the EUIS workflow:

  1. In the EUIS system, start by creating a new DDS statement and fill in the required details.

  2. When you're ready to add commodity or product information, use the Import button. This allows you to upload the EU IS file downloaded from the Verify portal.

  3. Click Confirm.

All required fields, like Producer Name, Country, Total Area, and Production Place, will be automatically filled in.

Summary

By using the EUIS Ready Export feature:

  • You won’t need to manually modify GeoJSON files.

  • All the information is correctly formatted for the EUIS system.

  • You’ll save time and ensure data accuracy.
