Farm Plots: Verified Risk vs Reclassified Risk

Introduction

Reclassified risk, a new risk model designed to reflect compliance and reclassification decisions more intuitively for users while preserving the integrity of the original risk methodology.

With this update, risk is now represented through two distinct concepts:

  • Verified Risk:
This is the original risk score derived strictly from test results. It remains unchanged, cannot be modified by users, and continues to represent the product’s objective, methodology-driven assessment.

  • Reclassified Risk:
This is a new risk score that reflects the risk after user-driven reclassification decisions (e.g., false positive or risk mitigated). It aligns the system’s behaviour with user expectations- such as resolved issues no longer contributing to perceived risk.

Why is it important?

  1. Improves user experience by aligning risk scores with resolution actions.

  2. Many of our customers rely on risk scores to make critical go / no-go decisions in their workflows. Therefore it enables more meaningful compliance reporting for customers.

  3. Preserves trust in the core risk methodology by keeping verified risk immutable.

What is new?

Summary View

The most noticeable improvement is in the summary view, which is now far more dynamic and responsive to reclassification actions.

Users will see two new switches that allow them to toggle between:

  • Profile Risk – the original, methodology-driven risk score

  • Reclassified Risk – a risk view that incorporates reclassification outcomes

This means the summary is no longer static- it updates as users resolve issues.

Reclassified risk as the new default

Reclassified risk results will be the default display when the reclassification outcome for farm plots is concluded. Users can still switch back to Profile risk at any time to understand how a dataset originally scored against Meridia’s Verify test profile.

This aligns with how customers actually work:

  • Risk distributions update instantly; therefore, the summary becomes a prioritised overview.

  • Compliance and data quality summaries adjust automatically.

  • The list of farm plots requiring action shrinks to only what truly matters, i.e resolved items no longer clutter decision-making

This helps teams focus on unresolved risks, rather than wading through already-resolved findings.

Consistency across the platform

Reclassified risk isn’t limited to the summary view; it’s now visible throughout the platform. A new “Profile / Reclassified Risk” column clearly shows how risk changes after reclassification.

The 'Profile/Reclassified' risk is available in:

  • Farm plot lists and query results

  • Visible on the map view

  • Included in all test result exports

  • Continues to be accessible via the public API for integration partners

This provides full transparency and consistency across all touchpoints

Summary

By bringing reclassified risk into Meridia Verify, we’re aligning the platform more closely with real-world workflows:

  • Resolved issues feel resolved

  • Risk scores match user expectations

  • Teams can confidently act on what truly requires attention

This makes risk assessment clearer, faster, and more effective for all our customers.
